Last August (2009), I took a trip to Oregon and Washington with my two cousins and boyfriend (who is not a Twilight fan but sweetly agreed to come and be our “bodyguard” and extra driver :]) to visit Twilight spots!

The following are my tips to make your future Twi trip fun and successful!

1. Do your research

I did a lot of googling trying to find some good resources that had info on the actual filming locations in Oregon.

One great resource that I used was http://experiencetwilight.com. The layout is different now but the information is still all there – they provide photos and addresses of where to visit the real filming locations as well as the places in Forks that are meant to represent a location.

For your Twilight experience in Washington The Official Forks Washington of Commerce website is an awesome resource.

You can also just try googling “twilight filming locations” to find other helpful resources. http://goseeoregon.com/guide/55-twilight-film-locations is another great site for a few locations in Oregon.

2. Map out a plan – print out maps and pinpoint locations

Printing out a map and pin-pointing the locations will save you a lot of time and hassle of trying to find the place when you actually get to Oregon and Washington.

The Chamber of Commerce website provides maps and points of interest including places to buy Twilight souvenirs and where to eat at Twilight-themed restaurants in Forks, La Push and Port Angeles (WA).

3. Bring a copy of the “Twilight: Director’s Notebook”

I bought this book after my trip and discovered that there are some really good tips in it as far as where to find locations. Try and get your hands on this book before you plan your trip – it will really come in handy. Click here to purchase your own copy from Amazon.

4. Charge up your camera and iPod/iPhone!

If you’ve got Twilight on your iPod or on any other device, bring it with you! When you’re actually in those filming spots it’s fun to play back those scenes and see those locations in the film. You can even have some fun and re-enact some scenes too!
